Our dentist will start by protecting your lips and gums from the high-potency whitening gel. Next, we’ll apply the gel to your teeth before activating it with a low-heat light, at which time the hydrogen peroxide in the gel will attach itself to stained molecules, penetrating your enamel and whitening your teeth. The gel will be reapplied to reach your desired whitening effect and the session will end with a strengthening fluoride treatment.

What’s involved with Zoom! Take-Home Teeth Whitening?

With a kit that includes custom-made trays, whitening gel, and detailed instructions, patients will place a small amount of gel in trays and wear them for 15 minutes each night. When done consecutively for 10 nights, results will be noticeable and uniform. Leftover whitening gel can also be used for touch-ups.

Are these systems safe?

Yes! However, they aren’t right for everyone. Patients with restorations such as dental bonding, composite fillings, veneers, etc., on their most prominent teeth aren’t candidates for professional whitening as these materials don’t respond to treatment.
